Community Invited to Unveiling of Bishop John Freeman Young Property Dedication Sign
You are cordially invited to attend the unveiling of the Bishop John Freeman Young property dedication sign on Tuesday, January 14, at 5:00 PM. The event will take place at the corner of North 11th and Broome Street in Fernandina Beach, a block behind the City's water tower and directly behind the Nassau County School Board building sign.
This "short and sweet" ceremony will feature remarks from representatives of the North Florida Land Trust, the Episcopal Diocese, St. Peter's Episcopal Church, and Jonathan Rich, author of “Spires in the Sun,” who will provide a brief overview of Bishop Young's life and contributions. The two parcels of land being dedicated were purchased by the City of Fernandina Beach with support funding from the North Florida Land Trust.
Parking will be available along 11th Street or on the east side of Broome Street near the sign.
Following the ceremony, the City and Keep Nassau Beautiful, Inc. invite you to attend the Wild Amelia Wild Nite presentation at the Fernandina Beach Golf Club from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. Mr. Allison DeFoor of the North Florida Land Trust will discuss NFLT’s mission and the importance of wildlife corridors.
We hope you will join us for this special event!
