Barnabas Center and United Way of Northeast Florida Host a Poverty Simulation
Fernandina Beach, FL — Community members are encouraged to participate in the Meet ALICE Experience on October 22, 2024, at the Peck Center (516 S. 10th St., Fernandina Beach, FL 32034) from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM. This free, in-person simulation will help attendees understand the difficult choices many low-income families face, such as choosing between paying bills or buying food. ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) represents hardworking individuals and families living paycheck to paycheck. This experience will highlight the struggles of close to 40% of Nassau County's neighbors.
"By joining us at the ALICE simulation, the community has a chance to gain a deeper understanding of the ongoing struggles faced by those living paycheck to paycheck," said Jamie Reynolds, President/CEO of Barnabas Center. "Together, we can make a lasting impact on Nassau County families and individuals."
To RSVP for the ALICE Poverty Simulation by October 18, please contact Barb Decker at bdecker@barnabasnassau.org or call 904-261-7000 ext. 106.
