Elevating Our Community: How Chamber Advocacy Helped Transform Portion of A1A

Back in 2017, the Nassau County Board of County Commissioners were presented with two choices for the median landscaping along A1A from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). The options were minimal or elevated landscaping, with either choice being fully funded by the FDOT.

Chamber leadership mobilized the business community to advocate for the elevated option, recognizing its importance for our county's appearance and appeal.

The Nassau County Board of County Commissioners signed a letter of intent in January 2018 to move forward with the elevated landscaping along A1A/State Road 200.

What you see from the photos are the trees and ground cover now being planted along A1A, a testament to our collective efforts and a true reflection of the Chamber's dedication to fostering economic sustainability, community vitality, and an enhanced experience for both visitors and residents.
