Rena Coughlin to Speak at Nassau County Chamber of Commerce EmpowHER! Luncheon
The Nassau County Chamber of Commerce announces the next EmpowHER! Luncheon for Monday, January 29, 2024, from 11:30 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the Fernandina Beach Golf Club, located at 2800 Bill Melton Road in Fernandina Beach.
EmpowHER! is a Professional Women’s Network that enhances the personal and professional growth of businesswomen in Nassau County. Luncheons include guided roundtable discussions on trending topics, an inspiring speaker, and mentoring and partnership opportunities that will help drive careers.
This month’s guest speaker is Rena Coughlin, former CEO of the Nonprofit Center of Northeast Florida. Early in her career, she graduated from the University of Florida, joined the Peace Corps, and helped introduce fish farming to Liberia, West Africa. Afterward, she led Girls, Inc. of Jacksonville, was the Special Projects and Alumni Manager for Leadership Florida in Tallahassee, and was a legislative aide to Senator Bob Graham, working in Washington, DC. As she went on to work for The Nonprofit Center of Northeast Florida for 18 years, she introduced an online fundraising platform and, more recently, a community indicators website. Rena also raised seed funding for Florida Data Science for Social Good and collaborated with the Jaguars football team and the Jaguars Foundation to establish a nonprofit ticket sales program that returned over $150,000 to local nonprofits last year.
Tickets for the luncheon are $28.00 for Chamber members and $50.00 for prospective members.
