The Chamber of Commerce will host 'The New Tax Law' and what it means to business on Monday, April 23, 2018 8:30 a.m. at the main office at 961687 Gateway Blvd, Amelia Island.
Lawrence Hertz, CPA will be the guest speaker. Mr. Hertz is a Certified Public Accountant with an extensive background in tax practice, dating continuously back to 1974. His practice was based in Long Island, New York, until his eventual move to Amelia Island. His clients have been, and still are, individuals at all levels of income and wealth, closely-held small businesses and certain not-for-profit organizations. The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 is the most recent of the many changes to the tax laws that Larry has been able to interpret for the benefit of his clients.
The majority of the tax changes go into effect in January 2018, but planning now is essential. Mr. Hertz will cover the changes relevant to businesses such as corporate taxes, standard deductions, qualified business income and other specific changes.
The workshop is free for members and $25.00 for prospective members. Registration may be made by calling 261-3248 or online at www.islandchamber.com. Remote access is also available. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for log in information.
