STRONGER TOGETHER

 

On behalf of the Board of Directors of The Amelia Island-Fernandina Beach-Yulee Chamber of Commerce and The Greater Nassau Chamber of Commerce, we are delighted to announce that we have entered into an agreement to consolidate into one Chamber of Commerce for Nassau County. We believe we will now be better positioned to work with local governments and provide greater reach, services and support to enhance the economic vitality of the Nassau County business community.”

 

Why Did We Merge?

  • The four communities and surrounding areas–Amelia Island, Fernandina Beach, Yulee, Callahan, Hilliard – all are in Nassau County
  • Business communities desire to work with one another
  • Local business leaders and government officials were encouraging the unification
  • Identity as one business community in Nassau County
  • Added services and opportunities
  • Increased value for members
  • Organizational efficiency and avoiding duplication
  • Stronger Together!

Size of Chambers

  • AIFBY Chamber – 720 members
  • GNC Chamber – 116 members (38% are members in both Chambers)
  • Merged Chamber – 792 unique firms

Merger Process

  • Formed Exploratory Committee with members of both Chambers of Commerce
  • Prepared Letter of Intent with outlined desired goals
  • Created official Agreement, signed by both Chambers

Merger Milestones

  • Ongoing consolidation discussions for several years
  • February 2018 Exploratory Committee established
  • March – Both Chamber Boards approve merger concept
  • April 2018 -  Both Chambers sign official Agreement

I’m a Current Member of the Greater Nassau Chamber of Commerce, what does that mean to me?

  • no immediate change in membership fees
  • the current GNCC office will continue to be staffed for 15 or more hours weekly
  • core events will continue which include monthly luncheons, golf tournament, Teacher’s Appreciation Breakfast and the Callahan Christmas Parade
  • fair geographic representation on the Board of Directors
  • access to marketing materials, new networking events, council meetings and educational programs
  • listing in the “Discover Nassau’ Life and Leisure Guide directory and online digital version
  • your listing to include logo, business description, key words, photos and videos will be included on the Business Directory of the website
  • access to two-hours of consultation time with a work-force attorney as needed
  • access to Human Resource materials, Florida Employment Law and templates for employment forms
  • access to featured business educational webinars and in-person seminars
  • all resources and promotional opportunities currently offered by the AIFBY Chamber of Commerce
  • Stronger voice for business at the local, state and federal level
