The idea for Vision 2032 dates from early 2007 when the leadership of the Amelia Island-Fernandina Beach-Yulee Chamber of Commerce proposed that a strategic planning model used in the business world—where those involved consider their desired future, or vision—would benefit the Nassau County FL community.
Funded in large part by the AIFBY Chamber of Commerce, Nassau County in May 2007 hired consultants to begin a long-term (25-year) planning and consensus-building process to create a vision for Nassau County.
A vision plan is not a regulatory document. It is a tool used to provide guidance to Nassau County for future decision making. It provides guidelines for policy makers as they set priorities and make decisions about the future of their communities.
After more than a year of work, including eight public input meetings, the plan was adopted by the Nassau County Board of County Commissioners.
